2-Day Seminar for Attorneys and other Service Providers in New England
Mark your calendar for this intensive seminar to build your skills and proficiency in assisting farm families through transition. Become or find a farm succession practice mentor. Connect with other farm service providers in your state and form teams to deliver quality succession assistance to farmers.
Learn from legal experts. A structured curriculum will be combined with networking and state-level team building.
WHEN: May 3 – 4, 2017
WHERE: The Falls Center, Manchester, NH
- Day 1 for Attorneys: Topics include farm legal structures, business planning for transition, non-family transfers, and more.
- Day 2 for Attorneys and Service Providers: Topics include estate planning, estate and gift taxes, what’s in a farm transfer plan, conservation, farmers without successors, cross-provider team building, and more.
Who should attend? Experienced attorneys; new attorneys and law students; other service providers including field staff, accountants, financial planners, land trust and conservation staff, and lenders.
Registration: Register for one day or both. Registration opens March 1, 2017. A block of hotel rooms has been reserved at the adjoining La Quinta Inn, and meals are included in the registration fee. Scholarships for new lawyers are available.
Fee (per day): law students or new lawyers in practice for 5 years or less ($75); lawyers in practice for 5 years or more ($150); non-attorney service providers ($75). Register for one day or both.
Seeking Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
