Have you ever considered making your land available for farming? When you make land available for farming you help secure a future for farming in your region. Farmers are looking for land to rent—from a small vegetable plot to livestock or crops. Productive, sustainable uses for all or parts of your property can bring many rewards! If you already make your land available but want to improve the arrangement with your farmer-tenant, this workshop is also for you.

These workshops will help landowners understand how they can assess their land and infrastructure, find a compatible farmer, consider issues such as liability and taxes and craft a lease agreement.  While many leases between landowners and farmers are sealed with a handshake, having a written agreement can ensure both parties’ expectations are met, providing the security a farmer needs and land stewardship a property owner seeks.  A  handbook, “A Landowner’s Guide to Leasing Land for Farming,” prepared by Land For Good will be discussed and made available at the workshop.
