Welcoming new talent while building on experience, partnership, and commitment

We are excited to expand our team with a new regional position, as well as increased capacity to serve farmers, landowners, and partners in Maine. This new talent will allow us to further grow our reach and deepen our expertise.

Please welcome Johanna and Amelia to the Land For Good team!

Johanna Rosen, New England Program Manager.

This new manager position will fill a key role in the organization to advise and educate farmers, landowners, organizations, and agencies on farmland access and transfer planning, particularly in southern New England (Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut), and support region-wide program development and delivery.

Johanna brings over 20 years of experience in roles providing project management and coordination within nonprofit organizations and networks focused on land, agriculture, and food, and a personal dedication to just transition.

Jo has worked with partners including Food Solutions New England, Equity Trust, and Agrarian Trust. Jo also worked in urban agriculture in Philadelphia, and her interest in land grew in part out of the experience of operating a nonprofit educational farm on public land without secure tenure. That led her to  focus on farmland affordability and community ownership models as part of her commitment to equity and justice. Jo also operates Meadowhawk Farm, growing seeds for Truelove Seeds along with vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs on a small scale, on Pocumtuc land in the Connecticut River Valley of Massachusetts.

“I am honored to join the Land For Good team to support farmers to ensure they can continue to care for the land and to provide their communities with food and fiber,” shared Johanna. “I’m particularly excited about managing Land For Good’s work under the new Massachusetts Farmland Partnership Program grant, building relationships, and fostering connections. And I look forward to participating in strategic planning and organization-wide leadership to expand our impact in New England and beyond.”

Johanna’s background in community agriculture and regional food systems is a welcome addition to the team.
