How We Help
Farmland Access Network
In an effort to strengthen farmland access support across the Northeast, we are launching a peer network for agricultural service providers who are new to the career of supporting farmers on their land access journey. To shape this initiative, we surveyed service providers in the Northeast to help us tailor programming to your needs and priorities.
The Northeast Farmland Access Network is a peer networking opportunity for early-career agricultural service providers who offer, or want to offer, farmland access support to farmers. The purpose of this network is to help to increase your knowledge, skills, and network connections to improve support for farm seekers. The network will host monthly drop-in sessions virtually for peer networking and learning, with topics ranging from land tenure basics to financial readiness to “soft skills” like mediation and dealing with power dynamics. Session topics will be guided by the participants of the network calls, as the sessions are designed to be interactive. Together, we’ll learn from one another and explore practical ways to better serve farm seekers.
Strong, diverse collaborations and partnerships are essential to improve land access programs and policies! Land For Good is working in collaboration with Farmland for a New Generation New York, Maine Organic Farmers & Gardeners Association, and New Entry Sustainable Farming Project to develop this network and offer space to connect, share, and learn.
Who should attend: Agricultural service providers, land access organizations, community organizers, agency staff, educators, consultants, mediators, attorneys, conservation professionals, and others who are early in their careers who support, or want to support, farmland access in some way — whether you’re just getting started in this work or want to deepen your expertise.
Virtual drop-in sessions will meet on the second Wednesday of the month from 2:00 – 3:30pm. Dates and session topics:
- October 8, 2025
- November 12, 2025 – Topic: Soft skills, such as communication, expectation-setting, and power dynamics. Register now
- December 10, 2026 – Register now
- January 14, 2026

Hear from the network!
If you’re wondering if the Northeast Farmland Access Network is right for you, other service providers share what they want to learn:
“I would love to hear what people are finding is actually helpful for farmers, and what unique ways folks are supporting farmers.”
“Creative ways to access land with the high cost of land and the relatively low pay for farmers.”
“How to better advocate for beginning farmers by understanding the menu of land tenure options available to folks.”
“I am eager to understand the landscape of service providers working on these issues and find connection and collaboration.”
“How seasoned professional approach the problems involved with farmland access.”
