Announcing NH Farm Future Fund’s 6th year of funding

Land For Good is a key partner in the NH Association of Conservation District’s NH Farm Future Fund that works to ensure that farmland is conserved, productive, and available for future generations. This year, the NH Farm Future Fund has $100,000 available for land trusts seeking to help New Hampshire farms conserve their land and improve the viability of their farm business. The fund is an integrated approach to funding farm viability, farmland conservation, and farmland access in New Hampshire.

Since 2020, $372,000 has been distributed to 19 farms in partnership with 8 NH land trusts conserving 1,813 acres, in 7 counties! Land For Good has provided technical assistance to many recipients, offering guidance on succession planning and/or helping develop succession plans for the farm businesses and land.  Read about past project recipients.

NH Association of Conservation District is now seeking requests for proposals from land trusts for:

  • Financial assistance to offset costs associated with farmland conservation projects
  • Technical assistance to support farm business viability and succession planning

Land trust applicants should be committed to bringing together experts in land conservation, succession planning, and farm viability to advance the farm’s business goals. Eligible applicants must be nonprofit tax exempt 501(c)(3) organizations that have land conservation as their primary function and are actively working to conserve farmland in the state of New Hampshire.

Note these directions! Prospective applicants must schedule a discovery meeting by contacting [email protected]. In their email, they should share their availability for the following dates: April 14, 21, 24, 28 and May 12. Completed applications are due by May 31st.

To get started, review the request for proposals and application materials.
